Cleaning my tub

Kalia has learned many things lately, it seems I can't quite slow her down. One of her newest tricks is climbing. She figured out how to make it in and out of the bathtub. The other day while she was playing in the tub with her toys (and no water of course) she found the box of baking soda I keep there for her diaper rashes. By the time I found her the box was empty and she was busy putting the baking soda on everything. It was very funny ;D

Kalia and Kenney had a blast playing outside, eating Popsicles and getting wet in Kenney's little pool. It was a little cool outside so Alyshia and I thought that a popsicle and just dipping their hands in the pool to clean them up would be fun enough. They had other plans, the popsicles were just the begining. Kali looked like the Joker after her popsicle. But its was fun to watch the two cousin's playing outside and enjoying the little bit of sun that we had.

Easter fun.....for mom

Kalia's first Easter has come and gone. She woke up and had a great start to the day, we found her Easter basket, (with some help from mom of course) and then we spent a lot of time digging through all the fun treasures it held inside. After that I tried to take Kali outside for some cute Easter dress pictures, but Kali had other plans she was ready for a nap. In the afternoon we went to a lunch with all the fun Lawrence's. We had an awesome ham made by Char (Nana) and then a very exciting Easter egg hunt. By the time we were done there Kali was ready for another nap. We ate dinner at Grandma Kuhni's and then had another Easter egg hunt, only this time Kali was not in a good mood. She cried through the whole thing, we ended up leaving early so Kali could come home take a bath and go to sleep. Poor thing was worn out by the end. Mom (Kortnie) had a blast taking pictures of happy sad and totally worn out Kali.

About a month ago Miki bought Kali her first pair of tennis shoes. It was hilarious to watch her try and walk in them for the first time. But now with a little practice she is almost running in them. We have been taking her outside to practice on the grass and sidewalks, she is having a blast being a "BIG" girl and getting to walk around outside in the warm sun. I can't wait until the pools open and she can try swimming (this year she is old enough to play in the water HURRAY :D).

Fast Learner

Kalia is such a fast learner, I can't slow her down. She started crawling on November 3rd at Te's baptism party. Only a week later she was pulling herself up to everything she could get her hands, then of course she started to walk along everything. Being as determined as ever started walking at 9 months. She is a speedy girl, I loose her in the house because she walks all over trying to see what she can get into. And so far it has been quite a lot, like the toilet and garbage cans. Today when i was doing the dishes she was to impatient and couldn't wait for me to get out the bottom tray so she could help me and so she climbed onto the dishwasher door. She loves to look at pictures, especially if she is in them. She caries a picture of herself around and says her name. It is fun to watch how fast she is developing and how much she is learning, I just wish I had more energy so I could keep up.

Kali's favorite thing to do is spend time with her dad. She adores Miki, when he comes into a room she gets wild and crazy and when he leaves a room without her she is crushed. At night when I wake up to change and feed her (yes we are still getting up once a night for this) if she sees Miki she goes crazy with smiles screams. She will wake up from a dead sleep smiling and calling for dad. Miki is loving having Kali to play with, they laugh, sing and dance everyday. It is very fun to watch and join in when she lets me :D

Crawling was just not enough, Kali started pulling herself up to things about 1 1/2 weeks after she learned to crawl. She loves to walk along everything, help with the dishes and unroll and eat the toilet paper. She has got Miki's energy.

Kali is my little helper, we put up our Christmas decorations and she followed me around helping put everything in the right spot. Then I wrapped presents and put them in a pile until they were all done and ready to go under the tree. Before I could move them Kali found them. She began climbing all over them (looking to see which ones were for her I'm sure), and when I got the camera all she could do was laugh and smile from being caught. I loved it. I was finally able to pry the presents away from her and get them under the tree.

In September Keiki stayed with us for a week while Bobby and Char were out of town, and because the weather was still good we decided to go to the Hogle Zoo. It was Kali's first trip to the zoo. When we got there it was later in the day so it was hot and I don't think that Kali was to impressed with the heat, she started out fine but quickly got tired. She did get to see the elephants and the zebra's but by the time we made it over the the monkeys she was gone. I think Keiki got bored because me and Miki were tired to. Once Kali was asleep we walked through the rest of the zoo fast and left, its to bad it was so hot.

This was a fun Halloween even though we didn't stay out long, I had fun with Kali. This year Kali was an elephant and I was a mouse. My mom helped me make her Trick-or-Treat bag, I wanted a peanut bag for my little elephant and I think it turned out great. We only went to four houses both grandparents, the Neibuars and Rachel & Jason's (a must). By the time we got to Grandma Lawrence's Kali was out cold, she even slept through the pictures we took. I had to get Kali dressed up again the next day so I could take some pictures for me. Miki debated for a while about dressing up but in the end he decided it wasn't for him, but he was sweet to take us where we needed to go.

My little princess Kalia is already 7 months old. She was born in April 10th, 2008. I can't believe how quickly she is growing and learning. She has gone from my sweet new born baby that sleeps and eats all day to a jabber box that crawls around the house looking for something to pull herself up to and wobbly walk around things (tubs, couches, entertainment centers, etc...). She is such a sweet little girl, she makes me laugh with all of her funny faces and expressions. She reminds me so much of Miki with her silly personality. I am loving being a mom.
